“It is wise to believe something wonderful

is about to happen”. ~Anonymous

Welcome to Surviving with Dr. Chrissie β€” a space where truth meets healing and survival turns into purpose. I created this platform to give voice to the stories we’re often told to silence β€” the ones shaped by trauma, resilience, faith, and the long road to becoming whole again. Here, we talk about real life: the hard days, the messy healing, and the moments of grace that remind us we’re still standing. Through honest conversations, survivor stories, and a little bit of humor and hope, Surviving with Dr. Chrissie is more than a podcast or a blog β€” it’s a community. Because surviving isn’t the end of the story; it’s where the rebuilding begins.

To See What They See

If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be, and why?

If I could be somebody else for the day, I’m not sure who exactly I would be, but I would like the opportunity to see myself through somebody else’s eyes. People are often to give us compliments or tell us things that were good at, but we don’t usually see ourselves through other peopleβ€˜s eyes and because we’re constantly in our own skin, we judge ourselves very harshly.. If we could walk around and see ourselves as others do, then we may be able to gain a new perspective on just exactly what other people see in us. Thought that would be pretty cool!

    Hey Chrissie πŸ™‚

One way you can see yourself (or some aspects of yourself) the way I see … those aspects of yourself (I don’t really see you, I guess) … is to read your own blog!

Of course everyone re-reads their own stuff (for spell-checking or whatever) as we write them, but prolly not so much the next day or the next week. Yet every now and then I do come across stuff I’ve written many months or years ago — sometimes I am shocked, but much more often I am surprised or even inspired by my own words.

HOWEVER: when you respond to a prompt, then I feel like I don’t really see (or read) you. For this reason, I usually don’t read such posts.
