There’s something about getting out of your everyday routine that breathes life back into you. I don’t know if it’s the change of scenery, the taste of unfamiliar food, or just the thrill of waking up somewhere new—but travel has a way of reminding us that there’s more to life than what’s in front of us every day.
I’ll never forget my first time traveling. I was 35 years old and booked a trip to Las Vegas. For some people, that might sound late in life—but for me, it was just the beginning. I had never been on a plane, never wandered far from the life I was used to. But something in me was ready. Ready to see more. Feel more. Live more.
Vegas was loud and bright and completely different from anything I’d ever known. It opened my eyes—not just to a new city—but to a whole new version of myself. One that was bold. Curious. Free. And once I got that first taste of the world outside my comfort zone, I knew I wanted more.
I used to think “seeing the world” meant hopping on a plane to Italy or backpacking through Europe. And while those things are amazing (and yes, they’re still on my list), I’ve learned that travel doesn’t have to be extravagant to be life-changing. Sometimes, it’s a weekend drive two towns over. Sometimes, it’s pulling off the highway just to see what’s at that scenic overlook. Sometimes, it’s saying yes to a new experience just because your heart needs it.
Every time I step out of my bubble, I come back changed. More alive. More aware. More grateful.
Travel opens your eyes—not just to how big the world is, but to how small your fears are. It reminds you that there’s more than one way to live a life. That beauty exists outside your comfort zone. That healing can happen in the most unexpected places—on a mountaintop, in the middle of a crowded market, or sitting alone with your journal while the sun sets in a place that doesn’t speak your language but still welcomes you.
And let’s be real: we all need a break sometimes. From the pressure. The expectations. The chaos. Traveling gives you space to breathe, to dream again, to remember who you are underneath all the titles and responsibilities.
So go. Book the trip. Take the drive. Say yes to the adventure.
Because the world is waiting. And I promise—it’s more beautiful than you ever imagined.
