“It is wise to believe something wonderful

is about to happen”. ~Anonymous

Welcome to Surviving with Dr. Chrissie โ€” a space where truth meets healing and survival turns into purpose. I created this platform to give voice to the stories weโ€™re often told to silence โ€” the ones shaped by trauma, resilience, faith, and the long road to becoming whole again. Here, we talk about real life: the hard days, the messy healing, and the moments of grace that remind us weโ€™re still standing. Through honest conversations, survivor stories, and a little bit of humor and hope, Surviving with Dr. Chrissie is more than a podcast or a blog โ€” itโ€™s a community. Because surviving isnโ€™t the end of the story; itโ€™s where the rebuilding begins.

How to make that difficult decision

Life has a way of placing us at crossroads โ€” moments when the next step could change everything. Whether itโ€™s a career move, relationship choice, or personal goal, making the right decision can feel heavy. But the truth is, clarity doesnโ€™t come from rushing โ€” it comes from reflection.

Hereโ€™s how to slow down and make choices that align with your values and future:

1. Clarify your goals.
Ask yourself what truly matters. What are you working toward, and why? When your โ€œwhyโ€ is clear, your direction becomes easier to see.

2. Weigh the pros and cons.
Every decision has trade-offs. Write them down. Seeing things on paper removes emotional fog and helps you evaluate reality rather than fear.

3. Consider the consequences.
Think long-term. How will this choice affect your peace, growth, and relationships? Sometimes the best decision isnโ€™t the easiest one โ€” itโ€™s the one that builds the future you want.

4. Trust your instincts.
Youโ€™ve made it this far because youโ€™ve learned to listen to your inner compass. When your mind and gut align, thatโ€™s often your truth speaking.

Remember โ€” the right decision isnโ€™t about perfection. Itโ€™s about alignment. Itโ€™s about choosing what moves you closer to who youโ€™re meant to be, even if it feels uncertain.

โœจ You already have the wisdom you need โ€” itโ€™s just waiting for you to listen. โœจ

    Hey Chrissie ๐Ÿ™‚

I enjoy reading your blog a LOT! ๐Ÿ˜€

I feel maybe we both appreciate the “coping mechanism” that blogging can be.

There’s a very poignant case of this right in these last few blog posts you’ve publishied (i.e., including the “next” one ๐Ÿ˜‰ ).

    Here (above), you write:

“clarity doesnโ€™t come from rushing โ€” it comes from reflection”

… and TBH I kind of *didn’t even have time for that to really sink in* before you published the “Share Your Story” post (I might have even missed this one altogether, because: LIFE).

Well, coping is one thing (and it’s a really important skill), but *MOVING ON* seems really NEXT LEVEL … and I guess this post sort of scratches that itch.

Yet IMHO for people who experienced significant trauma, it really isn’t the “mathematics” of making decisions — it’s more the *ENVIRONMENT* of risk. The unknowns. The past, clouding the present. The thin ice, the fear, the FREEZE that stifles and extinguishes freedom, etc.

    Just thinking out loud here.

    1. Hi! Thanks for the comment! Healing is never a one stop shop or simple. Itโ€™s fluid and itโ€™s what works for each individual. I just say what has worked for me and writing helps heal me. ๐Ÿ’•
